Burntisland anti glider landing obstacles
These are anti-glider landing obstacles on the beach at Burntisland, Fife. The central pole was originally much taller, but has been cut down to prevent damage to modern inshore craft.

They were necessary because the beach is very wide at low tide. These obstacles were planted in two double lines forming hollow squares to the shore. This is looking east to Kinghorn.

Looking south across the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh.
